A Precision Hydration sweat test is a diagnostic tool used to assess an individual's sweat composition and hydration needs during exercise or physical activity. It aims to determine how much sodium (salt) a person loses in their sweat and provides personalized recommendations for fluid and sodium intake to optimize performance and prevent dehydration during exercise.

Our Sweat Test takes about 45 minutes and all you have to do is sit comfortably while we talk to you about how you train, compete and walk you through your Personalized Hydration Strategy. The test is simple, painless, and extremely accurate, leveraging the same gold-standard test used by medical practitioners diagnosing Cystic Fibrosis.

Here's how a Precision Hydration sweat test typically works (Click here for a video):

  1. Sweat Collection: You can sit comfortably in normal clothes while we collect a sample of sweat form your forearm.

  2. Analysis: The collected sweat sample is then analyzed to determine the concentration of sodium (Na+), in the sweat. This analysis helps identify how much sodium you lose in your sweat.

  3. Individualized Recommendations: Based on the sweat test results, a personalized hydration plan is developed. This plan will include recommendations on how much fluid and electrolytes (e.g., sodium) you should consume before, during, and after exercise to maintain proper hydration and electrolyte balance.
